WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As Senior NPI Engineering Manager you will have the opportunity to nurture and leverage some of our longest standing blue-chip clients, working with them to effectively identify new potential solutions and develop a roadmap to achievement of cost efficiencies. This is a new and growing team with ample opportunity for leadership and management. This role will be responsible for sustainability, new product introductions and product/process development.

 

Croom Precision Medical, based in Croom, Co. Limerick , runs 24/5 and is the Centre of Excellence for Orthopeadic Implant Manufacturing producing over 250,000 medical devices annually. Croom Precision Medical employs approximately 115 people across Operations, Engineering, Quality and R&D.

 

You will drive New Product Introductions, Continuous Improvement and product/process development.

 

You will work with the CEO to ensure alignment of priorities associated with New Product Introductions and Technology / Process changes.

 

YOU’LL GET THE CHANCE TO:

  • Provide consistent leadership and direction to a critical engineering function within the plant. You will manage New Product Introductions, Continuous Improvement and product/process development.
  • Formulate and implement strategic plans to help drive the overarching strategic plan and future direction of the organisation.
  • Develop a team of problem solving direct reports and ensure that a succession pipeline identified and implemented
  • Develop skills matrix in line with product road maps identifying the necessary training and coaching for team members to ensure that technical and team based skills are acquired, applied and maintained by team members.
  • Partner with HR in identifying, acquiring top talent while developing and retaining talent within the team.
  • Drive key internal automation projects with supporting departments and Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Responsible for the implementation, enforcement and compliance of all relevant quality, regulatory and safety standards.
  • Manage capital spend tracking, monthly reporting and forecasting.
  • Drive key changes and continuous improvement in site engineering systems and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver annual budgets (headcount, expense and capital) for final review and approval. Approval authority for personnel requisitions and capital expenditure requests.
  • Manage Key Cost to Win programs and ensure that projects are rolled out as required.
  • Maintain the environmental licence compliance.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

 

Relevant Experience:

  • A minimum of 5- 8 years' experience in engineering leadership environment with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of success in leading a large engineering function.
  • Proven ability to influence and effectively manage high demands in an environment with limited resources
  • Agile learner, excellent interpersonal skills and results obtained.
